Role Overview: Posterity Health is seeking a highly adaptable and resourceful Senior Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in managing day-to-day accounting practices while navigating the ambiguity often present in a startup environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving organization.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance, while adapting to changing priorities and evolving business needs.
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports with a keen attention to detail and accuracy, despite uncertainties inherent in a startup environment.
- Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations for multiple entities within the organization, demonstrating agility in addressing emerging challenges and opportunities.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial projections, utilizing innovative approaches to forecasting and planning in a dynamic startup setting.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide financial analysis and support for decision-making, leveraging your ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity in complex situations.
- Support external audit processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, demonstrating adaptability in addressing audit inquiries and evolving regulatory landscapes.
- Develop and implement internal controls to mitigate financial risks and enhance operational efficiency, proactively addressing uncertainties and ambiguities as they arise.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably in a startup or fast-growing organization.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards, with the ability to interpret and apply principles in ambiguous situations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with NetSuite is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity in complex situations.
- Proven track record of meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work in a startup or entrepreneurial environment.
- Must have Athena experience or equivalent
